Today my supervisor approaches me and mutters in his heavy Danish accent: "Declan, I need you to look after two bachelor physics students for me for some time. They are just arriving today and I am going to a meeting so you can show them the lab and talk with them". Man the Danes love their details. Anyway I say no problem, sure I've not much to do today, bit of a chat with some lads my age aint so bad.
I mean forgive me, despite my class being of fairly balanced gender and lacking in nerds, when I hear "bachelor physics student" society's influence makes me automatically assume nerdy men. So imagine my surprise when two 6 foot blonde Valkyries approach me in my office. Seriously, they couldn't resemble better the servants of Odin unless were barechested, on horseback and wielding spears. Not only that but these girls are actually interested in what I'm stuttering to them about physics. It was a good ice-breaker....!!??

It really is times like these that make me forgive and forget all the shitty little things about Denmark.

All you need is a few physics-related double entendres and you've got the plot of your average porno ready to go. (Seriously though, that is class. Best. Lab. Ever!)

Seems somehow appropriate that this popped up in the woo-hoo thread. *prays fervently that the mod powers don't grow back any time soon*

The reason i am no longer a mod, is because I grew tired of reading the ****é people like you come out with ,so I decided to give up the position.

Went to see Casino Royale today. Best Bond movie in a long time, IMHO.

Cineworld at 8 for me too! Nice coincidence.

I saw it last week and thought it was very good too. Kind of shows up how weak the last couple of Brosnan one's were (I never liked the one with the Madonna theme tune).

Yeah, it does kind of show up the fact that, until now, the Bond franchise was getting pretty damn mediocre and stale. And yes, Die Another Day was a load of arse.

I don't like the look of this new fella, Bond is supposed to have a hairy chest and beer belly like a real man, not some ****in' girly man six pack. Disgraceful.

It's a Monday morning and I don't have a sore head! Getting up at 5pm and going to bed at 10:30pm for the win.

Furthermore I left work early today because there was nothing left to shelve. Wow.

The first 25 mins of Bond alone are worth the price of the cinema ticket. And I must stress alone. The rest of the film is cack. Daniel Craig manages to perform simultaneously as both Bond and the Bond Babe. The repeated references to his lack of his emotions lead you to believe that the film will allow you to eventually see inside the character at some point. But even when he is at his weakest and most open we get absolutely nothing. Not a hint of what makes him tick.

There are good points to the film (the action sequences are far closer to those in the Bourne films than any previous Bonds and his line about his Martini was class), but they are all completely washed away by the fact that he drives a Ford.

I'd hardly call it cack. For instance, the casino scenes were very tense and well acted. The only part of it that disappointed was the last 20 minutes, which were a bit of an anticlimax after Bond's victory.

Eh..... what exactly do you mean here?

True, he does come across as awfully cold and detached. But this is exactly how Bond should be. In this respect, Casino Royale is very close to the original material by Ian Fleming, which can only be a good thing.

It is a bit strange to see James Bond drive a Ford Mondeo, but in my opinion this adds to the realism of the film. Bond sometimes has to slum it with the rest of us. Besides, he quickly moves on to better things in that regard. I was particularly pleased to see him in a DB5, a clear homage to Goldfinger.

Anyway, if you really want something to detract from the film, it must surely be when he flips the DBR9 after executing a sharp turn. This would never, never happen in reality. The car's centre of gravity is way too low for that.

Sounds like you're pining for Connery and Moore. Nothing really wrong with his six pack. He did look awfully buff, but that kind of sent out the message that Bond is a right strong bastard not to be f***ed with.

Y'see, that to me just indicates that you have no love for the institution that is Bond, and so I shant sully myself by arguing cinematic psychology with you.

On the contrary, I have a great love for the institution that is Bond, having read all the books as well as seeing all the films (I need to get out more). Note that I said sometimes. If he were to always slum it, then that would be a very different thing.

The film was very, very good. It wasn't quite the usual bond film, was it? No crazy, over-the-top stuff. It seems like they're reforming the fraanchise, a bit like they've done with Batman Begins- darker, more realistic, and cutting away all the completely impossible.

Best part was the end, when he 'becomes' Bond, with the cheesy line followed by the music...

I don't want to explain exactly why the film was cack, as it would spoil it for those who haven't yet seen it. Plus, having said it was cack, it was still worth the admission price for the first 25 minutes.

    He drives a Ford, FFS!
