Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have beside me an athlon64 machine. It is going to to be put up in an attic for the next 3-5 years.

During that time it will work as a file\multimedia server. They may VNC into it to keep an eye on things from time to time.

Just wondering is X64 reiliable enough yet, or should I stick with the old school stuff. Also if its a pain in the ass to setup ATM, Id rather stick x32 on it.

I have the x64 eval disk here which I will hopefully have time to try, just wonder what your opinions are on this.

Linux is not an option for these people, gotta be *doze :(

You might run into problems with drivers althou i think most big manufacturers should have 64bit drivers.
I'm running plain oul xp pro without any problems this last while with 64bit cpu mobo etc

Even if it's stable, there isn't enough software to take advantage of a 64 bit cpu. I think you would be best to go with a 32 bit windows install and you should then have a rock stable file server.

No need for VNC on win xp pro either, use Remote Desktop
