Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

........a wrestler who was on Smackdown last year, for the life of me I can't remember his name. He was blonde I think, and wore all white. He seemed to have a thing for rituals, he carried some sort of staff to the ring, he was like a white version of The Undertaker. I remember thinking that it was a rivalry waiting to happen.

He stuck around for a bit. Then Vince and Co realised he wasnt up to scratch ring wise and after a loss to Rey Mysterio he was shipped off to OVW for repackaging. His real name is Kevin Fertig and was one of the recently cut wrestlers from WWE.

Kevin Fertig will remain, IMO, one of the biggest disapointments of recent WWE booking.

His problems apparantly stem from his debut. Mordi' was, as was noted, debuting on live tv, and he was pretty **** scared of making an ass out of himself.

Allegedly, on the day of the PPV, while getting encouragement from the other workers, and officials, going so far as Scotty literally walking him through the match, Diamond Dallas Page showed up visting friends/looking for a job, as he was wont to do. DDP then decided to try and psych Mordi up, and in the process, terrified him even more.

His debut wasn't bad, because it was obvious that Scotty did everything he could to make him look good.

However, everytime he appeared on TV, he would get an awful case of stagefright, and panic.

Furthermore, the WWE was under the impression he was 6'10, like his old tag team partner, Tyson Tomko, and when they found out he wasnt, they got annoyed.

Anyway, the WWE decided that he needed to go back to OVW to get more experience in front of cameras. Jim Cornette made him shave his head to get rid of the white.

He then broke his ankle, screwing him up further. However, during his time off, the WWE contacted him and told him there was a job waiting for him, and he got a huge head on him, and he went back to OVW bragging about it, and basically everyone got sick of him. He then got lazy in the ring, thinking he was untouchable, and he did a match in OVW, in front of "undercover" WWE Talent people in the crowd and did f all to impress them.

Blaming Cornette for this, he decided to break Jim's rules about dress code in the ring (In OVW - wrestlers must wear wrestling tights and boots) and turned up wearing jeans and a baseball hat that he infamously threw at Cornette. Finding out about this - the WWE fired him.

Personally, i was disapointted - i thought the Mordecai thing was cool, and they could have done tons with it.

I think Mordecai is the stereo typical example of bringing a worker in when they are simply just not ready. Matt Morgan, Nathan Jones even the Boogeyman idea is supposed to be quite good but if they can't hold their own in the ring why the hell do they bring them up?

Because here's the thing - if they didn't try bring up new people - you'd complain "Oh it's always the same people"

Do what i do - don't complain. It's better in the long run

BTW, the Boogeyman idea has been temporarily shelved because the guy is injured

No thats not my point or what I'm saying. I love it when I see new wrestlers coming up. But when there ready. Like MnM, like Shelton Benjamin, like Lesnar, like Haas like Orton. And many more. The point is these guys were ready. They were n't 100 % bullet proof ready but they were million miles ahead of some of the jokes they brought up.(I did like Mordecais sword though and Nathans Jones erm bald head and oh yeah Matt Morgans stutter) And hey if you dont belive me read some of Jim Cornettes interviews. He was bewildered why guys like Mordecai and Matt Morgan were brought up so quickly. They needed time in OVW to develop not be rushed in, made look like fools and then have their character shelved 4 weeks later.

I though Mordecai was a cool idea as well but that was one thing that i wondered and that was who he was going to have a rivalry with?
He did a few promo's saying he was going to punish a sinner or something like that.
I would have guessed the undertaker would be an ideal choice but i got the impression it was Eddie Guerrero because he mentioned someone who "lies, cheats and steals"
Does anyone have any info on this?
