Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tony Sheridan scored the winner today for Rovers against Bray. Final score 3-2.

    Tony Sheridan....Remember him?

One of the most talented players ever to play in the league before he did a George Best and went off the rails.

Can Roddy Collins do it again? The man is part football manager part social worker. :)

His nickname from the Shels fans is simply God. Tells it's own story. Scored the best goal Lansdowne Road has ever seen by some distance in the 96 cup final.

WAs it a lob or something? I vaguely remember it. I rememeber an old friend of mine started supporting Shels after watching Tony Sheridan. Dont know if he still does.

It was yeah. The ball bounced up off the heel of a Pats defender and on the volley from near 25 yards out he just flicked it into the top corner. Stunning goal, it used to be available on the net but not anymore afaik.

Tbh despite his goal today, another wonder goal by all accounts, I can see him totally flopping for Rovers. He completley let himself go, he was absolute garbage in his later days with Shels and got let go by Dublin City a few seasons back! If they're planning on starting him they're in trouble, but bringing him on with 20 minutes to go to get a wonder goal or two might work.

i played on the same team as shero a couple of seasons ago and although he's obviously been thru the mill a bit (thats puttin it lightly) he was still a class act.

I'm delighted that Tony Sheridan is back in the eL. Such a great player back in the day (that goal 96 cup final, WOW!) and well if he keeps this up it will be not only great for Rovers but also for the eL that a player like him is back.
