that "home use" is only true if you only play 3d accelerated games..
    GLquake, etc.

k-7's fpu should be good, but k6-3's fpu is still sh1te, cos it is basically the same thing as k6-2

so, software rendered games will be sh!te on k6-3, just like they were on k6-2

heres some info i came across... looks very nice. bus speed of 200? dunno

The AMD K7 will be released on the 23rd of June 1999. If correct, will mean the chip will just meet AMD's original first half of
    1999 release schedule.

The K7 will ship with either 512K or 1MB of off-chip L2 cache.
As for the speeds the new processor will ship at, has not yet been revieled. Though most likely to debut at 500MHz , 2.5 (clock
    multipler) * 200 (bus) = 500MHz.

As for the Bus speed, the AMD's K7 processor will utilize the Alpha EV6 bus which will run at 200MHz, Intel will want to release a higher speed bus then there current 100MHz or there 133MHz bus which is designed for there coppermine processors. The bus will be called Slot-A.

AMD certainly know that there k6 and k6-2 processors have weak double precision floating point performance when compared to a
Pentium II. THis should chaneg with the K7 as it will feature a dual issue fully pipelined FPU, unlike the Pentium II. Effectivily the K7 can perform at around 1 GFLOP (1 billion floating point operations
    per second).

The K7 processor is designed for servers and workstations where there K6-3 is designed for home use. The K7 will be mainly in competition with the Intel Pentium II Xeon and Pentium III Xeon.
Though it will be equipped with 3D-NOW.
