Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Birmingham City have agreed a deal with Newcastle United over the loan capture of midfielder Nicky Butt.

The former Manchester United man endured a difficult first season at St James' Park after spending his entire career at Old Trafford.

Blues are set to bag Butt on a year-long loan deal with a view to sealing a £2 million deal come the season's end.

Butt was in Newcastle's squad to face Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday, but has now been withdrawn in order to seal his move to St Andrews.
"Birmingham have agreed a deal with Newcastle for midfielder Nicky Butt on a season long loan with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season worth £2 million," read a Newcastle statement on their official website.

"The 30-year-old will join up with former Manchester United team mate and Birmingham manager Steve Bruce in the deal that brings Nicky Butt to St. Andrews."

Great player, didnt have a great season last term but will be a good asset to Birmingham and i think Bruce will be able to get the best out of him.

A good buy if he can get back his form of old. Maybe not as good potentially as bowyer, but infinately less hassle and less likely to self destruct! Id say Bruce should get the best out of him again anyway so all in all, go brum!

I have seen nothing of Butt that makes me think he is no better then an average Prem. league player.
