Is there any way to change my name in BF2 short of creating a new account? This is annoying the ****e out of me.

just change your name before your stats get any higher and you feel stuck with it. Thats what i got my friends to do so we could all be one of the same clan.

it tells you the command for it. but i couldnt get this working for me.

localProfile.setName [name] - Shows/Sets the name for your current account

Think that might just be for a offline account, aka "Local Profile"

I had been told you could do it through gamespy arcade , but I haven't tried , might be worth looking into .

You can't change your nick ingame. Everywhere else yes but not where it matters.

I don't think that this is coming in the next patch either.

That's really REALLY stupid.
What happens when people join clans and stuff? Just say goodbye to your hard earned stats and start over? **** that.
