Can someone tell me what the upload speed is please? Whats everyone doing with the new pricing, sticking with Broadband for a smaller bill or upgrading to plus for an extra euro? Would like to upgrade but only if its going to be noticably alot faster. What sort of rates are people getting on the 2Mb line? Thanks

    Have my BT 2mb for about a week now. Speeds usually as follows;

    Download - 1.71 Mbps
    Upload - 69.2 Kbps

Great service TBH. Well worth the €50 (€35 4month offer) :)

Cheers thanks for that. Is the 2Meg 40 euro a month for current customers?

As a 2Mbit BT customer Im getting pissed off having ~70k upload...as I only recently had ~100K!!!!!

Are other eircom bitstream customers getting such a low upload???

Hey... glad its working well for you. I'm awaiting the same:)
I thought it was €25 for the first 4 months, and €40 thereafter (with €50 connection fee?) though?

I ordered on 7th July. Around the 20th, I rang back and asked for more info. They said I had a "go-live" date set as August 9th. This is the date my line will be operational from Eircom. I rang again today and they said the should have this done earlier and I should expect my modem in the post next week.
    Sweet :)

Give them a ring and ask for your order status - they just ask for your phone number. The should be able to give you similar info.

So what speed is everyone else getting off the 2Mbit line? Is it worth going for it over the 1Mbit?

1.75 down and 110 up - 90% of the time. Well worth it when bundled with the line rental.

Cheers :) No, it's €25 then €40 for 1mb. Extra €10 for 2mb. I reckon it was worth it. Like zuma though, I'm also a bit pissed at only having 69k upload.

BTW, just cos I see a lot of people asking.....

Ordered June 26th, processed July 11th, modem delivered July 26th. :)

    oh, thats with line rental.

Sorry, my line rental is still with Eircom :)
That would account for the €10 extra.

shame about the slow uploads... hopefully they resolve that soon!

Moving out to Bray now within the next 2 weeks, leaving behind my lovely NTL 3000/300K service! :( Signed up for the 2Meg package today, hopefully it will suffice! ;) Once the upload speeds stay at around 100K+ I'll be happy enough.
