    entire town center redevelopment to begin on the 15 aug... €400M project
    labourers will be required in large numbers for almost a year during the project.
    conversion is set to see athlone becoming a shopping mecca for a 40 mile radius.

    What are they going to do with that anyway? Are they just putting in some big shopping centre where the royal used to be? Does anyone know if they plan to pedestrianize any part of church street? The town will be a mess for years
