Trying to explain to street vendors that I ONLY HAVE TWO THOUSAND KWACHA LEFT was probably far less fun than going to Opeth.

    200 QUATLOOS ON THE NEWCOMER!

    (Zambia, star trek. Same difference)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,858 ✭✭✭Undergod

You'd be surprised how many people in Lusaka resemble Ferengi.

    That's a lie.

    Awww...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,152 ✭✭✭carlowboy

You went to Zambia too Bill? How was it?

Oh yeah, and everyone go to MUSE.

  • Registered Users Posts: 655 ✭✭✭smiley_knees

    Bill in Zambia?

Sounds like one of those crazy ass adventures films.

"Indianna Bill and the Temple of Zambian Street Vendors"
    Starring: Antonio Banderas as "Bill"...:P

    Or not. Whatever.

Anyways, Will Young anyone? *prepares for ridicule and scorn*

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,024 ✭✭✭Awayindahils

Actually last time Will Young toured, Rodrigo y Gabriella were his support.

Also Electric Picnic, got my ticket before I really knew who was playing, just checked the website, can't wait, but will have to and such like.

Of course man! Antonio Banderas is *everyone*.... Whoever cast him as Armand in Interview With a Vampire should be shot

Awayindahills, i'll see you there! Heh, it'd be kinda cool if at EP with all the nerds going we could set up camp round the same place. Just like CTYI when the showers broke: Dirty nerds loitering around living together ;)
    Good times man!

Oh well that sucks then. That means he's all the uncool people too.

    No, I can't believe that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 588 ✭✭✭JenLorigan

Bill: It's all part of his cunning plan. By being uncool people, no-one will suspect him of being everyone... I can't think of a good way to structure the sentence I'm trying to form, but I'm sure most people get where I'm going with this.

That wasn't meant to be a joke, I'm just very tired.

'In later years, Lestat would look back and realise that Armand bore a striking resemblence to Antonio Banderas.'

Antonio Banderas can/does play everyone, always. And does it well. but to keep on topic....EP in...2 1/2 months? I have to get a ticket to Muse also.

People's verdict on Oxegen puh-leeze? I thought there were some fecking class bands but that up until about 5 on Saturday was just god-awful with Damian Dempsey and the torrential rain.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

The rain was dire. Bands were good. I was in the Pet Sounds stage for a lot of the time. Didn't like the atmosphere at the outdoor stages too much.
I thought the Arctic Monkeys were rather disappointing.
The Zutons were surprisingly good, though.

Camping was a bit of a nightmare. We ended up setting up beside some seriously dodgy people and ended up leaving on Sunday night. A shame, truly.

Pretty similar experience with me - had a great time except for the rain and luckily our neighbours were sound enough, but there was a hell of a lot of scum around. The security were as bad as them.

Music was good and the funfair was great (all free :D ) but I'm no longer keen on camping.Next festival I go to I'm hiring a camper van or booking into a hotel!

my tents roof blew off on saturday afternoon

    that was great craic :D

Now we look forward to Wacken, the clearly superior festival.

Agree 100%. Wouldn't risk the weather again to be honest. I'd prefer to go for a day trip
