    Hi

Does anyone have information about the WEEE charges to be introduced from the 13th of August.

I have heard that a Fridge will cost an additional €40.00 from that date. The €40.00 is an environmental management cost to pay for the disposal of electronic equipment bought before August 13.

By right the retailer is meant to suffer this charge of collecting your old fridge and disposing of it but hey this is Ireland so what do we do but pass the buck.

Any get the feeling that you'll be heading to the North for Electrical Items. If you take your old electrical equipment to the place for breaking a pay the 40e and buy it the north you still make a saving.

Thing is though. Its pretty hard to fit a fridge in the back of a car.

    So is it vfm.

You can bring your fridge or any EEE to the local civic amenity site (dump) after August 13 and pay nothing.

The UK will be bringing the same directive into effect in Jan 2006.
