Does anybody know of a decent program that puts a password on folders and files? Been going thru a number of progams I found like Folder Lock and Magic File but they are a bit complicated. I'm after something that simply prompts for a password whenever you try and access the program or folder you've protected.

If you are on windows xp using NTFS as your file system, look into the EFS (encrypting file system) that XP has inherently.

You should backup your personal encryption certificate (and recovery agent certificate) to floppy and store in a secure location.
If you do not do this then you will loose all encrypted data if windows gets trashed.
