Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They are starting some works here outside the Luas park and ride and the centre of the roundabout. Is this the start of the junction upgrade or something else?

What sort of equipment is on site Brian? A couple of months ago I saw they were taking core samples at J6. They took samples from all over the junction. Obviously assessing the geology and structural integrity of the current embankments. The extent of the site investigation led me to believe it was for the impending junction upgrade.

Would the geology have changed that much from the last detailed analysis they would have done in 1987 when the original flyover was constructed?

Good point Gerry ... all part of the construction racket. There is now hoarding up on the round about and temporary barriers down on the m50. Earth moving seems to be in progress.

I think they may have been taking samples of the embankments themselves rather than the underlying geology. It might be a racket but I think they need to know how solid the embankments are and will they take further weight in the form of flyovers. They took samples from all over the junction, tokk them a couple of weeks.
