Hi, I've seen some digital cameras referred to as digital elphs. What's an elph and how is it different from a camera? I can't find much explanation online.

elph is a Canon marketing label for some of their smaller digital compact cameras.

Look at www.dpreview.com for good reviews.

A quick google turned up links to only canon cameras, I'm guessing therefore that it is merely a particular product line that canon have introduced rather than a new technology, I'm very open to correction though.

elph is the same as IXUS

Thanks for the help, three of my friends here got one and they're great.

I got a Nokia Coolpix 5900, the prices are very good here.
