data cable for nokia not working!

i bought this for my nokia 6230, http://www.uxcell.com/ebay/images/no00000dkudc001c.jpg

it aint working, the software cant see the phone.

anyone else have this problem?

When you connect the phone to your PC you will get a found new hardware box popping up and looking for the drivers... point it to the CD and it will install the drivers.

The found new hardware box will then pop up again, and again for about 6 times. For each of these just point to the CD for drivers to be installed.

If you open device manager before you connect your phone you can watch the activity. After installing the 5 or 6 differnet types of drivers your phone should be visible in Nokia PC Suite software

ah, i canceld the other driver requests thinking windows was just horsing around.

Yeah thats what ppl normally do because of windows but there are a whole bunch of wireless communiation drives that need to be installed, then USB drivers for the cable and then drivers for modem as nokia's are picked up on a computer as a modem.

Its a pain in the a** but if you sit through all the new found hardware screens and point them all to the CD drive everything will be fine
