I asked my ma, and she said that she doesn't know.

However, according to yore ma you're too afraid of giraffes to go anywhere near them, let alone make furry giraffe love to them.

This is getting way too weird.

Sports journalism etc college etc you know the usual.

People who want to be teachers scare me. I mean, have you learned nothing from school! I have a theory that all teachers are sado-masochistic (my mam's a principal/teacher).

I want to make new organisms? Does that count? But I'm extremly annoyed that you can't study Science and Philosophy. I might even write an angry letter.... (Since I went to the gathering and never got shortened, I have had to look at other options than being an astronaut) (It hurts inside) :(

Side note: It is really hard to type with chocolaty fingers....

Couldn't you do Science and Philosophy as part of an arts degree?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,584 ✭✭✭Diarmsquid

    I don't really know what I wanna be/do.
Lawyer looks alright, as does a doctor but that's a lot of work and study and I'm just not up for that.
As for what Victor said: Pick something you like, are good at and will pay your way,
I like, I dunno, helping people.
I'm good at maths but don't see myself getting 590 points for Actuary and I hate accounting. I'm good at the Trigonometry and Geometry sides of Maths which has no use in real life so...
And as for something that pays my way, well the Doctor or Lawyer are both good but as I said, too much effort!

Nope. At the moment (Afaik) they don't let science and arts mix...But they will, after my angry, angry letter!

wow u guys are sure starting early! im in 6th yr and only realised what i DEFO want to do in college during the summer...my advice for u...think about it and research it! if u want to do medicine...be prepared to work for both 5th and 6th year (so u wont hve to do everything in 6th year!!) ur gonna need at LEAST 600pts..seriously! Look up all the different college websites to get a feel for them..and u can see what each course offers! remember courses with the same name often offer different modules in different colleges (i.e Law and French in UCC and Trinners). Go to the open days and higher options etc.

then again, u are only doing the jc...have fun and dont worry bout careers for now!!:D

Oh nono, It's 590 (I think) at the moment and It's very unlikely that a college would make you get the maximum number of points possible for a course. Seeing as so little people get 600 points if you got 590 points in the leaving you'd almost certainly get medicine in the second round of offers.

A Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) is usually 3 years.

A Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) is usually 4 years.

You can do individual science subjects in Arts.
