How about allowing the simple search drop down to appear at the top of the search results list. Thus allowing you to search within the search results you have just retrieved.

Might improve searching for those of us who are too dumb/lazy to use the advanced search.

dont know how clever the Advanced search code is - but might it also reduce the DB load from advanced queries?

Always looking for old posts and links. Nice addition it would be.

    You find much good stuff?

Can't you just add terms to your search criteria? eg, search:
    sticky paper
to get results with both terms?

Ya know what you mean but sometimes if i search my username it will miss it???????????
I sometimes have to search a person i can remember reffered the post or a specific comment in a line. The search aint so good on occation. Use it an awful lot for finding links to sites and the like.

    nukem

I too find the advanced search a bit hit and miss sometimes - using opera it sometimes returns a completely blank results page. Its not just me - there was a thread on feedback about 6 months ago.

Three threads i found on it.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=282490

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=267654

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=260170

    Seems search.php is just inefficient.

I find the same thing sometimes nukem. It doesn't return results that i know are there...
