How much have you spend on treating yourself (such as in the list below) this year? Not including your spends on others!

Normally I don't spend that much during the year but this year so far I ordered:

    1. USB key / Mp3 player €140
    2. Internal DVD Writer €54
    3. Pack of 25 DVD-R Blanks / 10 DVD-RW €30
    4. 10x50 Binoculars and adaptor €105
    5. Astronomy Magazine Subscription (12 months) €40
    6. Solar Filter Sheeting €30
    7. 5 MP Digital Camera, 512Mb SD and extra Lithium Ion battery €400
    8. 3120 Nokia Mobile €70
    9. Retro Joystick / Joypad (Amiga/C64) €21
    10. Webcam €27
    11. USB Hub €27
    12. Astronomy Books €50
    13. Complete Irish Wildlife book €10

Total to date (8 months): €899 (wow... it adds up)

Would you consider this a bit much? How has your year been so far? I'll probably will need to spend the same amount again on a PC upgrade possibly before the end of the year. Must hold out. Arrgh! :)

Some people spend that on going out, per month.

Its down to what you can afford.

I tried working mine out, and I scared myself, if I only spent €900 treating myself then I'd be happy, I've narrowed it down to the past month and this is what I've spent:
€14200 - car (a huge rotten loan for that one)
    Milan - €1500 (well, I was shopping!)
my nails - €71 (but they're soo cute!)
    clothes - €200
    hair - €30
    makeup - €30
going out - €?? who knows! too much anyway!

and that's what I can think off the top of my head, so I wouldn't worry too much about what you've spent at all!

heh heh... with the amount of shopping I've done (take a look what I spent in Milan a few weeks ago!) it's definately a treat! I don't just buy clothes cause I have to, I buy stuff I like!

I've probably spent close to 1500 on myself over the last year, excluding a computer. However thats only a rough guess, unfortunately it's probably higher.

If you think <€1000 is a too much to be spending on yourself then I'd have to question your reasons for working at all. €1000 in a full time industrial job represents less than 4% of your yearly wage, some years you could lose more in inflation just by leaving it in the bank!

Well, what I listed here is "treating myself with". Obviously, stuff like mortgage repayments, saving, SSIAs etc are not listed here....

I mean gaming, toys, hardware, music, holidays etc...
