Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They do workshops at Screen Training Ireland every few months. Should keep an eye out on the website.

Here's a link to up and coming ones

    http://www.screentrainingireland.ie/upcoming_courses.cfm

They might also do short courses at the Galway School of Film. Not sure though.

Try to get an internship in one of the post houses maybe?

My community television group will be having a training course starting this autumn.

It won't go into directing too much... but you should certainly be able to pick up some editing skills.

PM me if you want some more details.

    You do internships now.

Two options film base run a weekend course in directing.

Then theres a tralee FAS course that comes highly recommended, you have to move to tralee, but it comes with the scratcher, and theres a work experience placement at the end of it.

This attitude is a very good way of ensuring that it won't work out. You can't really do it part time and hope to succeed. If you're going to do it do it right right.

Having said that, I haven't been in Dublin for a while so I'm afraid I can't answer your question which makes this response sort of pointless, but I thought it needed to be said.

Im interested too, Monkeyfudge, maybe I could get some details from you too?

My interest at the moment is mainly in Musicvideos, I know nothing about directing, I just have a chronic obsession with musicvideos and film.
