If it can be seen in public:

(a) the colours should match and they should be sympathethic to the other clothes you are wearing
(b) clasps etc and support mechanims should be discreet, but practical
(c) your butt cleavage should not be on display, you should be able to sit down without "disturbing" passers-by
(d) keep it simple, lace patterns showing through your blouse aren't flattering, it makes your nipples look deformed
(e) VPL is unprofessional
(f) no butt skin visible between the top of the trousers and the bottom of the underwear
(g) if you want to wear underwear as an accessory

I would recommend both La Senza and Knickerbox for nice pretty underwear.

Watch out if you're buying red lingerie, some shades can be really tacky and cheap looking.

If you're getting measured for a bra DON'T get it done in Marks and Spencers they're are always wrong, I've been measured there twice and both times tried their advice in bra sizes but the back measurement was well out. They also tell some people that they are a EE, this size does not exist! It really used to annoy me when we got ladies in the shop I worked in looking for stuff in a EE "because M&S told me that was my size". They were all usually an E or an F. Okay rant over sorry. It is definately a good idea to get measured though and most lingerie shops will measure you for free, I've yet to meet one in fact that does charge.

I'm definately in favour of french kickers or hot pants, nice and comfy. I also prefer silk to lace as lace can be itchy but silk against your skin just feels so so nice.

i think I have the largest lingerie collection of anyone I know-5 large drawers full. I spend up to 100 quid a month on it. I get my stuff everywhere from Penneys and La Senza to Agent Provocateur. also, it all looks good with my collection of thigh high socks!
