    Male 25
    4 yrs NCB
    3 yrs full licence

    Yamaha XJ6

    €270 TPFT with Adelaide :)

Liberty were my previous insurer and wanted €350 for renewal.

Advantage with Adelaide is that I can add more bikes to the policy for 50 quid a pop. Have to be 25 to get insurance with them btw.

    Male 23
    Cbr 250rr
    Full licence (since Wednesday! Wehey!)

    TPFT
First year insured with Quinn was 1150.
This year 850 with a 100 refund when I told them I passed the test. So 750.

Axa wanted a scandalous amount of money. A few years back, when I was looking at buying the first bike I got a quote for a nsr125 for about 4000 from them. Ridiculous.

    Male : 31
    CB400 SF
    Learner permit : A

    Fully Comp : Carole Nash = 716 Liberty = 778
Adelaide would not quote me for fully comp & Aon never got back to me.

    TPFT : Carole Nash = 500 Liberty = 694 Adelaide = 425

I went with C&N fully comp considering its my first time on a bike. Plus they gave AA breakdown , multi bike policy & legal costs in the policy:)

Did you have any claims pending or paid out when you passed? Or maybe your policy was nearly finished anyway? I only renewed in march, so I was always going to get some form of refund as my policy is only three months old.

That quote aon gave you is ridiculous. I thought my quote from them was bad, but yours is a whole other class of scandalous.

    Liberty: FC: €599

I'm similar to you, but different premiums:
    Male 34
    Full Licence 10 years
Max NCB (i said 9, gave them a cert for 5 cos I was told that was industry standard)
    06 BMW 12GSA

Adelaide FC: €400. Includes being able to drive any bike that isn't mine.

I reckon you get on to them and ask them to do better! Carole Nash quoted me €412 FC, was going to go with them purely because it was AA recovery.
I was with AON for the last 5 or 6 years and it shot up last year to €650 TPO from €400 with zero claims.

Definitely don't accept your first quote from Adelaide. They drop down a good bit when you tell them your quotes you got elsewhere.
Pity companies don't just tell you their best quote straight away to cut out all that shíte.

After 6 years with Aon i have moved to Liberty today, got 3rd party/F&T for €257. Aon phoned me this morning to check whether i was renewing with them (with their 62% increase) and i told them i wasn't as it was too dear and i'd got a cheaper quote. He asked who i was going with and i said i wasn't sure yet -was about to say i had another company to phone first - and he laughed at me down the phone! The way i see it, it is none of their business who i am moving to, all they need to know is it is not them, i don't see why i should help them with their market research.

Adelaide told me they don't insure 125cc motorbikes.Do you think this is true or just a fob off.
Aon said min quote is 300e.
    Awaiting call back from Liberty.
    Competition in the market????

Just renewed with Adelaide for the 3rd year. After the joke quotes I got last time from CN (who I'd been with for ten years?!) and Quinn, I didn't bother looking this time...

    Male, 41, Dublin
    Triumph Sprint ST 955i 2004
    Garaged, alarm, immobilizer
    Full A licence 15 years
NCB 17 years (but they only recognise 9)
    RoSPA Silver
    No fines/points
Social, domestic & pleasure incl. travelling to work

€443 incl. breakdown insurance 45 euro and legal cover 25 euro.

Asked about taking pillion cover off but they advised me it wouldn't save anything! (I never carry a pillion)

Edit: Seems cheap compared to the outrageous rip-off prices Norwich Union charged us back in the 90s, but I'm in the low risk segment now :) and we have competition  250-300 max including extras, would be realistic. Riders in other EU countries pay half what we pay and get better cover!

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Last year I paid just over €400 fully comp for my V twin cruiser with AON. AON quoted €440 for my CBR 600rr after I take and pass an assessment. Never put this bike on the road.

This year from Adelaide Insurance Motorcycle Team a multi-bike quote.

    Male, 46, Tipp
Suzuki V twin C50 (800cc) and CBR 600rr both Garaged, no alarms or immobilizers
    Full Brit license 1 year
    NCB 1 year , No fines/points
    Pleasure use only.

€414 for both bikes fully comp and no assessment needed. :)
