Male, 48, Limerick. Another ('89) CB-1 rider here, somewhat longer in the tooth and full licence for 20+ years, but only 2 years NCB built up so far. Last year CN had charged me €310 full comp and this year they quoted me €290 at renewal, so I rang them and said I'd expected a bit more of a drop third year round - €270 was the best they could do. Then rang Adelaide (who I'd previously left for CN) and they quoted me €254. I got them to leave out the breakdown cover (which in some policies is very limited if your bike is over 15 years old; check your small print); I always leave out the legal cover if possible.
    €210
    full comp
    pillion cover
driving other bikes wop (TP only)

You wouldn't possibly have the CN policy document to hand would you?

    25 yr old female
    Provisional licence
    1 yr NCB
    2012 KTM 690 duke
    €701.96 FC with Liberty
The other 3 don't want to know because of (a) provisional licence, (b) my age or (c) I use my bike to commute to and from work.

The value of the bike pushed up the quote a fair bit so to be honest I'm happy enough with the quote. It'll probably drop a good bit next year as before I got the new bike my insurance had dropped to €330 on a CBR250.

    '91 Honda CB-1 400cc

    Liberty - €844 TPFT
    Adelaide - €483 TP
Carole Nash - €530 TPFT with breakdown assist, 3rd party on other bikes and legal fees.

Anyone know where the policy document is available for Carole Nash?? Can't seem to find it on their site.

Adelaide now offering TPFT for the same price. Same cover as Carole Nash except without breakdown assist as they don't offer it for bikes over 15y/o. Would it be worth the extra €50 for breakdown assist?

    Adelaide.

Oh hello! Thanks. I had the front forks dropped a small bit so that has helped, when I sat on it first it was proper tippytoes so I'm more comfortable now and you know yourself it'll drop a bit more naturally over time. Really comfortable bike though, I've a CB400 and a CBR250 as well and the Duke is definitely most comfy :)

Adelaide told me that it's €50 to add a bike. He repeated this a couple of times and as per my quote above, he quoted me €370 if I was on the GSX on it's own. Could be worth clearing up if it saves you a few bob.

Bike i'm looking for is a new model (2008 +) Kawasaki Ninja 250R. They quoted me €935 fully comp on a povisional. €700 if i had the full licence.

Considering i was expecting like double that, happy out. :)

    Renewal time. 23, 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, fully comp, level 3 assessment;

    €477.

And I haven't yet told them I passed my test a few months back.

If I wasn't leaving the country in 7 weeks I'd be over the moon.

Doesnt really make much of a difference, as I was told by 2 insurance companies that the IBT full module is more or less the same discount as a full licence. Its the 1yr NCB that helps alot.

When I got my inusrance in June of 2011 and passed my test in march got nothing back, with the above explanation.
