nice one Power Chords, it has an African look about it. The zig zags give it a non-western look

Ah! You're almost there - I tried to fix it for you but I'm blocked from pixie at work! If you click on other sizes - you will see an option to share - one of the options is for forum posting. If you copy and paste that link - it'll show as an image here.

    Hope this makes sense!

A pair of earings I made. Finding it really hard to get nice neat loops when making jewelery, anyone have any tips?

Any lace fans out there? I've been teaching myself how to make lace and I want to get away from the doilies etc so I've made a suncatcher.
I get views and subscribers from all over the world but none from Ireland. I feel a bit lonely......http://youtu.be/cALnIONHPE8

There are quite a few resources on line.

    http://http://www.free-craft-patterns.com/carrickmacross-lace-1.html
This one gives you the basic idea. The threads used are the same as for crochet lace.
The idea is, to tack first net and the muslin over a drawn pattern. You then lay 'cord' which is a thicker thread over the lines. You the cover this cord and the cloth below with a slightly slanted stitch of thinner thread.
You then cut away the muslin leaving the net intact. The rest is basic embroidery, again using the cord for stems and so on.

There's a good demonstration on youtube.

    If you go to http://www.carrickmacrosslace.ie
They sell a kit, but it's pretty expensive.
I've used net curtain and muslin bought in my local drapers and it works fine. I buy my thread from Cork craft supplies by phone. And I make up my own designs. I keep it simple and make simple flowers, leaves, bees etc but I prefer the crochet lace.

If you read back over the last page I have explained it - you will need to upload and then link to here to display images. Otherwise it just shows as a link. It's easy and free to open a pixie or flickr account.

Yeh I know how to get one of those accounts and use the link to upload the images but I really didn't want to open on of those accounts for personal reasons. I was hoping I was missing something on the editor. Other website I am on allow to upload images direct from the PC, that was more I was looking for.

Thanks for the help. I think I will leave it for the min. Some great work here though. Some very talented people really!!:)

I sometimes pick things up when I'm out and about and turn them into other things, this is a pebble from a remote west coast beach upon which I have engraved a very simple celtic spiral, drilled a hole through and turned into an adjustable necklace.

I might upload some other work later.

Cheers North West, I'm pretty happy with it myself. I love that particular style of painting. Takes a lot of work to get the right balance and harmony in the colours and depth but the results are more than worth it. Thanks alot, it's nice to get some positive feedback.
