Thanks Maremi. I figured I had used very unrealistic colors. Nice to get someone else's opinion. :)

This is my first attempt at woodcarving. It is carved from Irish Yew. This is currently for sale as I am completely hooked and can't wait to start another one. It is time consuming, this took about 7-8 hours from start to finish but I find it very relaxing.

Today I would like to present a brooch with turquoise cabochon, howlite and magnezite beads, seed beads, glass and leather back. This is a new handmade brooch made by my sweet cousin. She will never ever will go online and show what she is creating. So, I decided to do that instead of her.

I hope you will like it this new jewellery item.

For this one I used Metatron's cube as a basis, which is a very important symbol to me, I feel it contains something more than just the way it looks visualy, to me it gives off a certain kind of ambience when placed in a room or space. Even though it looks futuristic, it's actualy a very old symbol with old properties within. Metatron's cube is derived from the flower of life as seen below:
    metronscubestart1.jpg?w=268&h=300

The cool thing about geometric patterns is they can grow both inwards and outwards and they are infinate. Personaly they remind me of life/time/existance, which is why I am drawn to them. Scientists say the universe started with the big bang, if you think of this as the first point in a geometric pattern, the pattern grows infinatly getting ever complex and extending it's reach as does the universe as we know it. Hopefully this explains some of the reasons behind this piece. If there's anything else you'd like to ask, let me know :)

I was looking at it for some time and saw similarities to Mucha's decorative style. Well, he based the decorations on geometry too, but then went organic, asymmetrical.
    Anywho, great work!
