I'd guess you'd have to pay for the first half of the year. Best bet is to ring the Dept. of Education to ask them. Ask to get put through to the fees section.

Contact details (I'd ring them very early in the morning if you're hoping to get through to them - 'twill be a mad day for them)

I'm fairly sure a plc doesn't count as having done first year. I think you get free fees for 1st year anyway. That's what one of the girls I know did anyway and she said she had no problem.
