Hi-Fi through home cinema system

    Is it possible to send the sound from a hifi to a home cinema system??

    If so how??

    Run a 3.5mm to two RCA cable, from the headphone socket of the hifi to the aux in on the back of your amp. That should do the trick, if your hifi has optical or digital out then that would be better.

    yeah it has optical output.

    Then run a cable from that into the optical in on the back of your amp,

    You may also be interested in the slim devices squeezebox.

    It means you don't need a noisy pc in the living room, just the squeezebox which connects to the hi-fi and streams mp3's over the wireless link from your pc.

    It has a remote control too and a good display, so you can sit on your couch and select from your mp3's as you wish or use playlists.
