Hi has anybody heard of Precious Metal Clay??
it's pretty amazing stuff basically silver (or gold) that comes in a clay form, when you fire it it becomes pure silver.... an amazingly easy way to make your own silver jewellery.... I'm trying to organize some workshops on the stuff but not too many people have heard of it....

i never heard of it before you mentioned it but i just ran a google on it and found this informative website from the american society of silversmiths if anyones interested in finding out more about it.

    http://www.silversmithing.com/1clay.htm

and a place to purchase the stuff (interesting to gauge the prices) http://www.jewelryclay.com/?&source=google

the Crafts Council of ireland runs courses in jewellery making for free in Kilkenny (you get paid a small amount to live on while doing them), they might be able to inform you further of precious metal / clay and jewellery maybe if you give them a ring/ email they might be able to point you in the right direction for workshops and they are probably better informed about it then i am (my cousin did the course with them)
