Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, hope someone can help, i've owned a beetle for a couple of years and finally have moved somewhere with enough space to restore it. i need to get some holes in the floor repaired and the underbody of the car spruced up. does anyone know somewhere in the southeast or midlands that would do it. any body shops ive called only do modern cars. i dont want to send it away for 6 months and fork out 10 grand for someone else to restore it, i'd like to get as hands-on as possible. so really im looking for someone to do the welding? any advice would be appreciated

    thanks
    xx
    :)

I'd agree with FatTony2000, getting in touch with a club is a great way to find out about specialists, spare parts, etc.

Somebody in the club may know of a bodyshop who will do the repairs you require, or may have the experience (and equipment, e.g. MIG welder) to do the job themselves !

What model/year Beetle do you own ?

I restored a few Beetle's back in the early '90's.

Beetle restoration seems to be massive now, my father is restoring a 72 bug to showroom condition, complete stripdown, And I'm building a beach buggy (proper body style) out of a 77 with perfect running gear but rotten body.

Like they /\ /\ said get involved with a club, the best way to get bits and work is to get toknow others doing the same thing and share.
