I've been using it since yesterday and it's good but not great. I haven't used the call feature yet, has anyone else? An article on the front page of the Irish Times says that the call feature is only available in the States which I hadn't heard, but the whole article seems a bit unsure altogether.
In the register there was an article quoting some remarks about how it's limited in features.

It's good overall but it's little things for me that I'm missing.
No message history, like jabber here in work
No Smilies, the Talk icon doesn't become highlighted when I get a gmail in the same way the Notifier did.
A feature for conferencing your chats would be good for when you've got 2 or 3 conversations going with people who all know each other.

I know it's just a beta but gmail's been a beta for the last year I've been using it and there's things in that that I wouldn't mind them getting around to improving.

All the same I'll keep using it, invited all my friends (anyone else need and invite), want to try out the call feature with my Broadband at home

    Hi,

I've been using it for 4 days, I have called people chatted and that's about it as ye know that's about all it allows at the moment.

So, I think. For the feature it has it does well. I have had one crash in the software just out of the blue. I use it over skype when I call people. It seems to have a better tolerance to background downloading, I know I could implement a qos filter but when I went to the skype homepage, I think they should stop the whole "we know ye haven't a clue so this is all ye need to know" thing.

Sound quality is good, i like the volume indicators that allow a live volume level allowing fine adjustments.

Hopefully more features will be added soon.

I do use skype alot for landline calls etc. so best of both worlds is nice.
