    Greetings All,
    I Got outline Planning permission from the wife for the construction of a new PC. This will be my first build, I would like a fast PC for gaming and flight sims etc. I have read a few books and read the stickys, and it seems fairly straightfoward. Is this a good bundle to go for with Kompett?
    I am a bit wary of the PSU?

    Not bad. I would personally go for an nForce4 based board and PCI-E based graphics card.
    What's your budget?

    Hi,

    Around €900 ish, I want to buy a bundle with all the cables etc.

    I could buy off the shelf, but I want to learn more about building a pc.

    All the cables generally come with the mobo, so there shouldn't be a problem there at all.

    Let me see if I can come up with something around that price range.

    Ditch the NF3, NorthQ psu.
    Get an NF4-Ultra or -SLI based board for the simple fact that they will have PCIe and Sata300/NCQ (Ultra and SLI, vanilla NF4s don't have Sata300/NCQ). In 6 months you'll thank me.
    Buy a Fortron 400W+ PSU. Best bang for buck, quality psus at a fair price.
    The graphics card needs to be swapped for a PCIe version.
    You might want to wait a week or three on the graphics card, as the ATI R520s are coming out, so they'll go head to head with nVidia's 7800 range, leaving the x800-series and 6800-series to drop in price.

    Buying slightly better memory (timings really) might be a good idea too. You'd be surprised how much of an effect having good ram can have, especially when (again) in 6 months you start getting itchy fingers and go fiddling with the HTT clock, memory timings and voltages :)

    seriously avoid this mobo, i had a problem with it booting up, i got a 480w antec neopower and it still didnt solve the problem, my advise just avoid it if you want to be able to start your pc from the case button.
