    Gee, next week already?

I've seen both titles listed for this episode, so I'll go with both.

The Raid is the episode that ends season 1, in effect. Everything that's spilled over since Kobol's Last Gleaming comes to a head on Kobol. It will be interesting, good or bad.

Well I thought that was brilliant. Baltar and six, brilliant stuff. You're going mad Dr, oh wait, no your not. End of humanity!

Can't type any more, have to go out now but glad I watched this first.

Absoutely fantastic episode. Season 1 got wrapped up nicely and we're on to season 2 now. They know how to get to Earth. I guess the rest of season 2 will be taken up with the act of actually getting there.

The Lagoon Nebula - M8 - is an actual nebula in the constellation of Scorpio, so bonus points to their researchers.

Pretty cool episode overall but I wasnt happy with the Baltar is crazy and then he wasnt bit as it felt to much like 24 with its pointless plot twists for no reason. I though the way they used our constilations on kobol was pretty smart.

Now that act 1 has been closed off I wonder what direction the show is going to take now with the search for Earth but there wont be any new BSG for a while Im told as its the mid season break in the states which is going to suck:(

good episode but i felt it was let down a little by Adamas slow clap after introducing Roslin. actually reminded me of the bit in not another teen movie
I have to say i'm very interested in how they will follow up the comment boomer made to adama "And you asked why" (or something to that effect).

Does this mean that "dead" cylon bodies can still transmit info? and where does it place boomers "I'm not plugged in" defense

I loved that line from Boomer, btw.

Not correct, There is no episode next week, but the week after it's back with at least 4 in a row. the trailer for "Final Cut" in on SciFi.com

The october schedule aint up, but they list the following for September

    Sept 09, "Final Cut"
Sept 16 "Flight of the Phoenix"
    Sept 23 "Pegasus"
    Sept 30 "Scattered"

Next episode will have to address the survivors issue back on Caprica. I reckon they wont want to go back and Starbuck will be pretty pissed but there has to be more, they setup a couple of story lines back there.

Judging by the trailer for "Final Cut", i doubt it, but maybe the next one, assuming the title is a reference to the movie of the same name.

I noticed starbuck saying "the cylons have a plan for caprica, their rebuildign the infastructure" wonder whats happening there. It's somethign i wondered about in the orginal as well.

No sign of them dealing with it in any of the nex few episodes but I reckon it will be a sub plot. Eps 2x10 looks great, cannt wait.

    one question though

where the hell did they go in the tomb, and how did they get back?
i thought the slow clap was just a dream and they are still in the tomb

hould be good to see some dialogue between helo and the chief

chief-"so you got my dead x pregnant"

helo-"she isnt your dead x, she is an identical copy of her with the same memories"

    chief-".....you broke the code!"

Yeah but "Scattered" is the first episode of Season 2 so it's a repeat and thus not new.

There'll be ten episodes in total - so that's 3 more new ones to come, up to "Pegasus". That'll be in line with SciFi showing ten episodes of SG1 and SGA as well or half of the season of all three shows.

As to the episode, damn fine. Little let down also by
    Adama's slow clapping - a bit cheesy
but in general excellent, with some great Baltar scenes, e.g.
banging his head off the scanner
    .

Man i thought that was a great Ep - lot of things coming together. Adama picked that bit*h clean with one hand????????? :p (what ya reckon)
Liked Baltar freaking big time(more than usual),its a lovely touch.
    Cant wait till next week!

It was a very good episode. It seems we're all on the same wave length regarding the slow clapping.

tvtome.com has the next three episodes from 9/9 to 23/9 and then no more till January  *****ing baxterds. Oh well, at least Lost will be back to pass the time.

Not really a spoiler but future episode pondering on my part:
Anyway, I see one upcoming episode is titled Pegasus. I wonder is this to be a remake of the original series episode where a 2nd battlestar "Pegasus" turned up? I've been wondering whether they'd do this or not. This is just before the break so it'll probably be a two parter, the second part being called "Resurrection Ship". Seems likely to involve the second battlestar.

I guess the mid season break will mean that Sky will catch up and possibly overtake the States in showing new season 2.

the writers have made it no secret that they are planning on having a second battlestar, so i'd say you're probably correct.

And I doubt Sky will go ahead this time, it's not being shown til October on Sky I think.

Spoiler for the episode mentioned in the above spoilers, and yes this is a definate minor spoiler
The pegasus is indeed a 2nd battlestar that they meet but unlike the orignal series it has an admiral on board who takes command of the fleet, and generally causes mayham

Very good episode, really liked the map to earth in the temple of Athena. Using the constellations to pinpoint the planet's position, very cool.

I have a feeling that the Pegasus may eventually head back to the colonies to rescue the survivors. I don't think that Galactica will go back, and I don't think that the Pegasus will be a permanant addition so I suspect that they go back for the survivors.

The map to earth in this episode was inspired, but Six's comments to Baltar at the end about wiping out all of humanity does suggest that the cylons are using Galactica to find earth.

So, the big question is: Why do the Cylons need Galactica to find Earth?

They already knew about the Arrow and about the tomb, so they could've found the "StarMap" any time they wanted. I guess it must be something to do with Boomer's baby.

    Theories anyone?

Perhaps they'd tried but it wouldn't work for them. Maybe it would only work for humans. The Cylons were who first suggested that Rosalin and Starbuck have a propheciesed destiny. The visions that Rosalin has had could easily have been caused by the Cylons in the same way that Six can make Baltar see what she wants him to see.

The humanlike Cylons also have a fear of Kobol as Six has said that if you die there your soul goes nowhere. Which I suspect means that some sort of interference on Kobol prevents their minds from transferring to another body if they die on the planet. So maybe they didn't want to risk going to Kobol again if they could manipulate the humans to do it for them.

    Brilliant episode.
This show is so far ahead of anything else on TV.
Great to have Baltar back on screen a bit more after a quiet spell.
His conversations with six are *****ing brilliant :)

I think the little comment by Boomer to Adama on the planet when he attacked her is very important, and I'm surprised nobody is really talking about it. I must admit, I didn't even notice it until the second time I watched it. I was wondering what the point of the scene where Adama went to see the dead boomer in the morgue was. Then on Kobol when she said to him 'And you ask why' it clicked.

So, aswell as being a dirty slut, she's also a big lieing biatch because it would appear that she is 'plugged in', even to the dead ones! I thought that Adama had also realised the importance of what she had said, judging by the surprised look on his face when she said it, but he doesn't seem to have done anything about it. Perhaps he wants to study her and see if they can find out what the Cylons are up to.

I really want to see where this is going, and can't wait till next Saturday now, stupid breaks

Replacement, or maybe something similiar to baltar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,576 ✭✭✭savemejebus

as i mentioned previously I thought that was cool, but Adama hasn't heard her claim not to be plugged in has he? she only told him she had no hidden code and her decisions were her own.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 8,679 Mod ✭✭✭✭Rew

I don't buy the replacement thing, they could have easily replaced other key figures instead of using Baltar to get in to the security systems etc. I get the feeling that they infiltrated society instead of replaced people. Could be wrong of course :)

Finally ... watched it last night.

Baltar scenes were good, especially the scene with the chair in it.

The fleet being back together is better than it being apart. Although its all resolved itself way to easy... Marshall law, El Presidente being locked up... sure lets forget all about that and move right along.

Also Apollo and Starbuck being just let back into the fleet.... i would of thought that military discipline would be held in higher regard. Some sort of punichment would have been in order.

    Hmmmmm ... nice chair.... LOL
We definitely need more sex scene in series 2. Also Bathar hasn't had a good scene in a toilet yet this series - wtf?
Great ep and some great comments here.
"And you ask why" oh yeah - endless possibilities.
And I too am getting a bit fed up with the Balthar storyline - is he / isn't he? etc. Seems like they were setting out on a more definite approach with Baltar and Six of Seven at the end of this ep. Lets hope.
I really liked the bit when Adama embraced his son. Very, very moving. That Olmos guy is some actor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,991 ✭✭✭Johnny Storm

One further "thought". Ron Moore made a big deal of how Battlestar would avoid the 40 year old Star Trek cliches/conventions yet here we see Adama (supreme military leader of all of mankind, more or less) personally going on a dangerous away mission in wartime because ... well, its more dramatic that way. Of course I wouldn't have it any other way....

Prophecy. They seem to follow the Book of Pythia as closely as El Presidente does.
