Solderless SP ICE and a 1.1 - HELP!

I am installing a solderless SP ICE into a ver 1.1 Xbox and I continually get FRAGing, nothing I do seems to make any difference.

So far I have tried removing all the rivets and using rubbing alcohol to clean the LPC area, then reseating the rivets and getting nowhere.

Then I tried removing the rivets again, cleaning again and then lightly scratching the LPC contact points (not heavily, just enough to remove any laquer if it was there). Reseated the rivets.....nothing.

The pogo pin adaptor (I presume that's what the spring-loaded pin adaptor is called) sits nice and cleanly into the rivets, I can feel the click when they connect and slot-in. The connection is so good in fact that the wire sits right into the D0 perfectly. The Xenium lights up red when I power on (so the D0 connection seems good) but then the xbox does the usual - shut down, start up - shut down, FRAG.

I have read everything I can get my hands on about this problem and people seem to think it's one of two things:

    1) Bad LPC connection - which I can't understand seeing as I've tried and retried and retried it to no avail.

    2) Bad OS on the chip.

Now, I've downloaded the latest version of the Xenium OS and have burned it. But I can't find a guide that explains how to actually get it onto your chip if the Xbox continually FRAGs. I mean, how can I flash the chip if it won't even boot the machine.

If I disconnect the D0 then the machine boots to the MS dash no problem. Do I flash it from there?

I am at the end of my tether here. There HAS to be a way to get this to work without soldering. I mean if needs by I'll eventually pay someone to solder it....but I really think it *should* work. There must be something I'm doing wrong.

Anyone with any help, please post! Thanks.
