Are the STP type fuel injector cleaners any good? Can they really restore lost performance?

Has anyone here used them, with what results?

    Thanks

I bought thier "NCT 2 pack" but I have'nt a clue if it made any difference (though it did pass the emmissions test).

Marvel Mystery Oil is my favorite. However, I have heard of ATF Auto Transmission Fluid being used, a Cup/10 Gal (us) as an equally good engine/fuel cleaner.... I wil say I have not used ATF myself, nor do I intend to. but I have used MMO to great effect on Cars and mowers.

Otherwise, "Techron" works well on valves/injectors.

I used this too as my fuel consumption was too high and I went from around 360 miles on a full tank to around 440. I reckon it must have done something good :)

the NCT 2 Pack. It has a Fuel Injector cleaner and a Petrol Additive. Used both in a full tank and it made a big difference. Power output was improved too.

I got it in a garage I think. I've seen it all over the place. Might have even been in Dunnes that I got it.

Sounds like its running rich and so needs a proper tune up (the air/fuel mix could be off). Another possibility is that the thermostat is'nt working - ie stuck open or closed, can't remember which is bad for fuel economy!
