Allocation on arrival holidays?? anyone tried it?

    These are holidays where you book and you dont know what resort your going to be in till you land in the airport. There cheaper then most holidays and real last minute deal things. I just want to go away somewhere hot, theres only 2 of us going and its a toss up between lanzeroti and crete (maybe even tunisia)

    So has anyone tried one of these holidays and what was the outcome? and who was it with?

    I've done it in Tunisia and Crete, Tunisa was grand but I seen people with fancier places but they prob payed more. In Crete we got a pretty good place with only Irish and Dutch in the resort. The girl who booked it was a friend of ours so don't know if that influenced it or not.
    It depends on what you want, most places are grand but just that, not fancy hotel quality but nice and clean etc etc.

    I would be terrified, what if you ended up in some dump. There are alot of really awful resorts out there. Pay for what you get but can you really go with out air conditioning and other comforts?

    Did it in Tunisia last year for a 4* hotel with the GF and had a fantastic time. So good in fact that we've decided to go for a 5* on allocation this year in Tunisia. Really recommend it.

    my sister did that 3 weeks ago in slovinia
    absolute worst holiday she ever had, sent to the back end of no where with nothing to do whatsoever, hotel a complete dump, people horrible, on top of that, it rained all the time.
    It was so bad that all you could do was laugh when she told us the stories.

    any idea what company ye are goin with? i did it before got it for €175 each and a few days before hand the travel agent rang sayin that she got a fantastic place if we wanted to go there. we had a great time and all for €175. the best thing to do is have a look at the brouchure of whatever company that ye are goin with and ye'll be goin to one of those. it will give u an idea of what to expect when ye get there. Hope that helps :)
