Time out error with eircom email

    Every time I go to check my eircom email in outlook 2003 I get the following error

    Task 'eircom.net - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The
    operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP)
    server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server
    administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

    When I ping 159.134.198.135 it times out but I get a response when i type Telnet mail1.eircom.net 110

    I have been using Microsoft Outlook 2003 for a number of months I have not
    changed any account settings, its set up exactly as it says on the
    site. This has been happening for the past two weeks although I can
    still check my email from the eircom.net website. I hope this is enough
    information for you.
