Where did you get it done? and what sort of bar is in it?
a straight one, or a staple one?

i have two piercings on my neck, one 16 months and the other 8 months.
they still get red and itchy from time to time, just keep cleaning and try to avoid scratching it or playing with it too much.
there is a chance it could be growing out, it happens to many surface piercings but it may just be healing naturally, i noticed mine were especially itchy when healing.

just keep cleaning it...but try and keep **** like hair spray and stuff off it...

Hey I've had my nape (neck) pierced for about a year now and when I first got it done, I had redness around mine too and it was also itchy. That's completely normal! The staple bar can be uncomfortable at first. It's just your skin and body adjusting. Be sure to take care of it or it could be rejected by your body (unlikely). I have 15 piercings and all healed great with just using sea salt and water. It's supposidly the best way to keep them clean. The guy at snakebite told me to get a pint of cooled boiled water and add a tiny bit of sea salt to it.. A TINY bit. He said if you can taste it in the water then that's almost too much. You just need to barely taste it. Then clean it with cotton wool and dry well after (bacteria breed in damp!!)

Hope this was of any help to anyone!! Lol :)

    Good Luck!

I had a similar problem with my nape . It settled down after about 3 months and its perfect now , 1 year later.

Try avoid touch the screws. But if you must then wash your hands antibacterial handwash.

when i got mine pierced, it got badly infected after the first week, one of the balls got 'lost' in my neck, even the piercest told me to take it out but i refused.. I used pure ethanol for a week or so and it cleared it right up, its grand now about a year on.. That ethanol is the business when it is a serious infection and saline just doesnt work well.
