    Lads.

I have been considering getting an Audi and was talking to a mechanic last nite, he said to stay a mile away from the Audis, that they were mad expensive for parts and that there was a lot of parts that could go wrong.

Now personally I think that every car has a load of parts that can go wrong, why is this any different?

    Any comments?

I would have thought you could bring it to a Skoda dealer for servicing and parts as Audi/Seat/Skoda/VW all use the same parts!

ignore him, vag parts are priced alright in comparison to some. eg toyota. did u know a radiator for a lexus is 2500 euro lol. audi would be mayb 300. trust me vag are alright ;)

your mechanic is right in one way cos the modern audi multilink front suspension is a pain in the ass. also they are a bugger to change the timing and fan belts cos you have to remove the front bumper and rad to work on them. if you want a trouble free car get a toyota.

OEM and spurious parts can be got from alternative sources such as GSF in clondalkin, OTTO in ranelagh (& I think in Galway) or Euro Car Parts in Belfast.
I don't know of any myself, but Im sure there are Audi/VW/Skoda specialists around the country.

My guess is he's talking about engine management lights etc etc, I have a mark 4 gti and there's always a light popping on here and there, some people go mad but I reckon its a good thing

If he's a mechanic can he nof fix any problems you may have? All cars give problems,
