Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That just sucks beyond belief. Nobody is less deserving of this kind of luck than Solskjaer, yet it just keeps happening. :(

Im not surprised in the least to be honest. There were rumours circulating that he just wanted to get back to play again to have some sort of farewell. I think he knew in his heart that he was never going to be the same.

Terrible pity, couldn't dislike the guy.

I still think he can make it back :/
    I have a real hope.
Either way, if he doesn't, he'll still have one last comeback game, coming on as a sub for like 10 mins.
The roar you hear at that match will be unlike anything anyone has ever heard.

That's the worst news I've heard all week. I was really hoping he'd make it back sooner rather than later, was even planning to go over to his first game back if I was certain of when it would be. True United legend, no stalling over contract talks like certain other wannabes not fit to wear the shirt - Pini Zahavi's mate.

Once a player goes down the injury route, they can rarely recapture their former glories. Even at Sunday league levels, ACl and ankle problems often screw up a player for good.

Hopefully it will be a minor scare but it does nae look good for Ole.

He was a great player for Utd but maybe it's about time he thought about his long term health and fitness and called it a day.

Any report I have read on Ole's latest setback puts him back a month or two. I would share the fears that he may never play again but hopfully he will make it back, If not I'm sure United will organize a testimonal give his career a proper send off, what an event that will be.

That's really sad news indeed,Ole is a model professional and more's the pity there's not more players like him in Football thesedays.

He was a great player. Knee injuries are very hard to get over. Hopefully we will see his trademark 89th minute goals again :) Just as long as they aren't against Newcastle. :p

Ole sets comeback target by the start of November

OLE Gunnar Solskjaer has set himself the target of being back in training by the beginning of November.

The popular Manchester United striker has spent almost all of the last two seasons on the sidelines trying to combat a serious knee injury and reports coming out of Norway recently suggested Solskjaer had suffered another, potentially career-threatening, setback.

However, while Solskjaer has admitted he has been forced to ease off his recovery programme because of a minor niggle, he insisted the new injury was only loosely connected to the old one and he intends to resume training in six weeks' time.

"There has been a bit of a setback," the 32-year-old told MUTV.

"We had a look at it but it was not really anything to do with the old injury, other than it will take a few more weeks to recover.

"The specialist is very pleased with how the old injury is progressing, so I am hoping to be back in training by November 1."

The news will give Sir Alex Ferguson a big lift, even though there will be no demands placed on Solskjaer after such a long period out.

Ferguson has previously revealed his own doubts over whether the man who famously scored the injury-time winner against Bayern Munich in the 1999 Champions League final would ever play again.

Not all doom and gloom at United. It appears Ole still has a chance of playing again pretty soon.

ole is a true example of a professional footballer and the sooner he is back the better. Always liked watching him even if he plays for United :D

i really feel bad for him. He was just loyal all over, the amount of time his international coach told him to get out of united or he is out of the squad. But the guy was great and probably one of uniteds best ever goal scorers, and unfortunatly never reached his best. He could and should have been one of the greatest strikers of all time =/
