    Someone torch this profiteering ...

*this advice is brought to you by Shell, Texaco and Statoil, proud purveyors of fine combustibles to professional arsonists

Just a few days ago unleaded was 111.9 in Maxol, Harolds X, now gone up to 118.9
Still a pretty good price though in comparison...

No, that site is updated by any Joe Soap. As it happens I changed it after seeing the above update.

There was a guy from Limerick that is charging 137.2 on the Gerry Ryan show this morning. He claims he must charge that because Shell are forcing him to buy from them at 129 per litre:eek: He says the other 7 cents are his profit!

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

What price increase? The only inflation was because of the euro. Petrol used to be £10, now it is €20 ;)

In the Netherlands typical price €1.50 atm btw. UK, Italy and the Netherlands most expensive in the EU

A fair enough point... until you factor the actual cost of motoring in Ireland, i.e. calculate your cost per mile or kilometer including VRT/Insurance/Road Tax/Maintenance as well as petrol - then you may compare countries like for like... and draw conclusions about the current profiteering (for that is, quite clearly, what is taking place at the moment)

In and around, say, €0.75 - €1.00 we've got it marginally better than a lot of other EU members. €1.20 is an overnight 20% hike - that will factor in well in the quarterly national inflation figure ;)
