landline video phones

seen some of these on the net, havnt seen any in shops here but there are some in the argos catalogue. how do they work? do they have to be connected to a broadband line, and can they call 3g mobiles? wil they work in ireland?

Have no idea how they work but they'll probably be about as successful as sms to landlines that eircom launched over a year ago, in other words - not very successful at all...

I presume you'd get the same quality as using a webcam on msn with dial-up.
