DIT: Member of the European University Association?

    Not quite sure, i think DIT is an affiliated member rather than a full member. Either way, DIT does not have university status and has no plans to try to be a university. DIT wants to remain an Institute of Technology.

    No, DIT is a full member; it’s strange that no other IT is in this as well. And, I heard that when DIT is moves to Grangegorman, it is to be renamed Dublin Metropolitan University, but i'm taking that with a pinch of salt.

    But, It looks like DIT tried to get Uni status back in 1999:

    Probably Failed because the place is falling apart.

    You mean it was falling apart. Aungier St has since been overhauled and looks fantastic now. And then there's the new campus at Grangegorman that you mentioned, which will hopefully provide some desperately needed sports facilities.

    That application was under the old President. The new one has said he has no interest in University status and no plans to apply for it.

    I'd say the full implementation of the Grangegorman campus wont be completed by the time my grandchildren (if i ever have any) go to college. DIT are the masters of incompetence

    Hm..Well im going into 3rd year and the education i've recieved so far has been far from "Incompetant"

    DIT...
    Educating : Yay
    Organisation and Administration : Nay.
