What are your own predictions Nickibaby?

Can you try and flesh out your posts more in future, particularly at the start of a thread as the above doesn't really encourage discussion.

    Okie dokie will do.

I think that Federer will win the mens singles and Clisters or Sharapova will win the womens.

The Men's US Open is producing some of the best tennis I have ever seen.
Agassi-Blake last night was an unbelievable match.
I didnt get to bed until 6.20 as I watched it all.
    Truly one of the classics.
Agassi was 2 sets and a break down and came back.
I have 20 euro on him at 20-1 to win it outright.
    I think its his destiny.
I think Nalbandian will beat Federer.
I dont really care about the womens side as the standard is very low.

At the start I thought Federer but he wasn't very convincing
against Kiefer.I would love if Hewitt or Agassi won, as long
    as it's not Federer.
In the womens I find Mary Pierce so annoying so I hope Elena
Dementieva beats her. Ultimately, I want Clijsters to win because
shes been so close on a number of occasions& really deserves it.

Ah the womens tennis is weird.
Pierce is a fine player but she has a dreadful temperament.
She suffers from extreme bouts of nerves.
She could barely get the ball over the net in the French Open final.
Dementieva is by far the best text book tennis player left, she has lovely strokes but her serve is woeful.
If she had a good serve she would be the best player in the world.
Sharapova has a good temperament and Clijsters too.
I dont like either of these though.
    Sharapova's shrieking is ridiculous.
I always feel watching Womens tennis that temperament is the deciding factor in most latter stage matches.
    I hope Dementieva wins.

anyone know a bar or tennis club in dublin where they will DEFINETELY show the mens final. it may go on till 1am irish time and i dont want to be kicked out before then?

i think federer will win the mens. he has not had nearly as many hours on court as the others who all seem to love goin to five sets (hewitt im espically talking to you). it makes little difference that kiefer took a set off him since on the last two occasions kiefer also got a set off him.

as you might expect i would love to see agassi win. he will beat ginepri by using his head and his experience but neither hewitt or agassi have given federer a run for his money in the last two years.

clisters will win the womens (i dont think but know). dementieva's serve is a joke, sharapova isnt physical enough and pierce is too old. i only hope its not getting close to clisters 'time of the month' if you know what i mean.

i would agree with mister anarchy: the standard of the women is too low. not only do they get away with only 3 sets but its also too slow. its reverse discrimination gone mad that they get equal prize money

Get over the whole equal prize money issue, they deserve it.
The women are far better at promoting the game of tennis.
At least the womans side is wide open and more exciting, unlike the mens,
it hasnt been dominated by one single player- Federer

Clijsters & Hewitt to win :)

Federer has only won one of the grand slams this year. He has ruled on grass for a long time.

I would like to see Agassi win it because he is getting on but I think Fed will win. I don't like Hewitt at all, I hope he doesn't win it anyway!

I would like to see Clisters win the womens because she didn't win a grand slam yet

I don't like Sharapova AT ALL but she is a fab tennis player and has a good chance of winning

Can't see Hewitt being much of a threat to Federer; last year's final was a bit of a joke - I think Hewitt will win a set at best tonight. Hopefully Agassi will give Federer a decent match but again I'd expect Federer to pull through.

As for the women, I think everybody wants Clijsters to win. She said that she might have to retire in a year or two if her injuries continue as they have; such a shame that she hasn't won a major yet. + she played so well to beat Sharapova.

It was a great match the Clijsters v Sharapova. I had a splitting headache from tension after watching it, was delighted that Kim won. You can never count Sharapova out until they are shaking hands.

The tennis is great at the moment, i'm really enjoying it.

Pity the women aren't on 'til 1 am tonight. At least 9pm tomorrow is a bit more reasonable.

i really hate sky, yet i really want to see some tennis. poor latimer, is 1 too late for you (light humour)

Ha! I'm just looking for any excuse to moan!!

I'm just sayin that i'll probably pass out in the middle of it whereas if it started at 11 i'd make it til the end. Ah well, can't really complain with the 2 mens semis being on the same day.

Does any1 else find Chris Bailey on Sky Sports really annoying?
I'm so glad Kim won her first Grand Slam & now it won't
be hanging over her head. It's a pity it wasn't a good match tho.

I really hope Agassi wins 2nite, it wud just top off his career.
Something tells me we're in for a long five setter tonight

I didn't get to see the women's final (stupid chorus changes eurosport to bravo at half 12 grrr) but after watching the Clijsters Sharapova match i really wanted Clijsters to win even though I generally don't like her. interestingly enough she got more than the men's champion will because she did so well on the US Open Series circuit she gets 2.2 million as opposed to the 1.1 million the men will get, and any other woman who won will have got!!

I'm hoping Agassi wins the men's final, kind of bored of Federer at this stage. Yes I know he hasn't won all the Grand Slams this year but he's in the semis/final quite a lot

Andre gave some amusing comments after his semi final win. He say that tennis is a problem solving game, you just have to find your opponents weakness. Roger has a no weaknesses and a few good shots.

A very honest opinion. I think everyone knows Federer is the man to beat. The way he controls the ball and is able to outmanuveur opponents is incredible and always brings a smile to my face. Having said that I really admire Agassi, his skill and determination. He is an knowledgeable tennis player and can think on the same level as Federer but doesn't have the same engine as Federer imo. Either way it will be a great final.

I was really happy Clijsters won her first grand slam. Pity it wasn't a better final.

Really looking forward to the mens tonight, should be a great game. I admire both players and will be sad to see either of them lose.

i believe everyone has a weakness, just because no one has been able to exploit it, if i was playing him i would try and use more pace and confine him to the corners, then we will see how good a mover he is.

go on the agassi, f**King legend!!!!!

Use more pace? He uses the opponents strength against them, ie you hit a power forehand and he will give you that back with more pace and accuracy than you can handle.

Great match tonight, pity agassi had to lose. Commentators were saying 23 finals unbeaten. Incredible stats. Federer would be legend if he quit right now. Afraid to even think about how many grand slams he's gonna win.

Great match, so thats 2 US titles he has and 3 Wimbledons, hasn't won at Rolland Garros yet but I'm sure it'll happen eventually. Who can beat him? Its a shame that Hewitt because of the draw in most majors has to face him in the semis, I think if it came to a final match between those 2 he might beat him.

are u thinking of the way nadal beat him in roland garros?

agassi would have have beaten him if he was able to hit more pace at federer backhand. there is a critical point even for federer where if it goes over a certain speed, federer or anyone wouldnt be able to hit it.

flippin boring federer, sac le bleu
