The Boards.ie Fantasy Share League thingy

We now have a fantasy share trading league

It's on Bull Bearings.co.uk. It's free to join the site and it's pretty straightforward to join the league.

The league is called "Boards" and the password to enter it is "apple".

This thread is for people to post their usernames on the site on so we know who each other are etc. I'm nesf, unsuprisingly. We can also use this thread to talk about what we're doing etc and about why we chose different shares etc. It would be nice if people started new accounts so that we're all starting on the same amount.

I look forward to seeing you on there. Cheers to everyone who helped with ideas

I'll post up the league standings each week in a seperate thread btw. There will be fame etc for those who are winning

If there's enough interest we could see about giving away some form of prize or something. We'll have to see.

I dont really understand what this is about...excuse my ignorance..but could someone please explain as iwould like to do stocks and shares...

There is zero real money involved.

By joining that site you get 100,000 pounds sterling of "play" money that you can pretend to invest with. You're limited to the UK markets, but apart from that it's your's to invest.

It's fun/a challenge and it's a good way to see what's involved in trading.

I don't really have the time to research stocks and participate atm so I'm just going to admin the league atm. Hopefully I'll find more time later, the fantasy fx league is really tempting me

The take up on this has been excellent. I'm very happy with the interest and I'm hoping people are having fun

Go to edit your details then go to edit your portfolio and tick the
box that says you allow others to see your portfolio.

I will probably do it as soon as I get back above 100k. :rolleyes:

Yeah it would be a lot more interesting if people made their portfolios visible.

Then people could discuss each other's trades.

Nah, no need.

This isn't so much a competition as it is a good chance for people to trade beside each other and learn from each other.

Yep just joined. Hav'nt a clue what I'm doing and don't understand some of the stuff but a good place to learn.
