    I just started 5th year and have decided to do German as an 8th subject(self taught) and need some advice on what text books to get...Any help would be appreciated.

    Teach yourself German good look, i used Vorsprung 1 in 5th and thought it was decent

    I have used;

    Einsicht
    Sprachschatz
    Ubung macht den meister

    Any would be good for text and grammer work and I use Horschatz 2 for aural.

    ubung macht den meister is a great one!
    make sure u get the oral one as soon as its out!
    exam papers!

    We had Ubung macht dem Meister, the oral book, papers and the Lernpunkt Deutsch textbook and workbook. UmdM and the oral book are the best, although Lernpunkt is good for covering specific topics and has a lot of well laid-out exercises. Hope this helps.
