Yea IBB is gone downhill in Bray. I was getting 1.98mbs down and 1.72mbs up. But now I’m getting 1.18mbs down and 659kbs up! And now I’m getting disconnected from IRISH servers saying “This server is for low pings only” Really annoyed at the crows at my mast tugging at it, and I was getting 5ms ping average to the main mast but now I’m getting minimum 55 – 740ms to the mast and spikes too… And to top it off I got charged a whopping €290.40  for broadband this month alone!!! :( And I expect to be getting a 6mb package for that price :D and I’m only on the €48.40 2mb breeze package…. Apparently it was a fault on there side that cost me €290.40 and there trying to fix it soon… but how soon they didn’t say :( … Still waiting for an engineer to come and fix my pings. I don’t know wat to do now I cant get a DSL line cause I don’t qualify for it and my neighbour dose  and I got rid of my phone line.. My question is what will I do with IBB or should I go for another wireless package with another company?

EDIT: "659mbs up!" to "659kbs up!" LOL would love 659mbs UP

you may be able to get the new Clearwire service. Their mast is on the Boghall Rd and they use similar, but apparently better equipment, than IBB's ripwave.

Thanks for the suggestion... I managed to contact IBB today and organised for a technician to call over on Friday [thank god] and hopefully sort out me problem :)

Theres nothing an engineer can do really. Traceroutes place the problem squarly on one router in IBB's network. Housecalls won't fix it.

I don’t think so somehow.. Because I used trace route to the 365gaming servers and the main hop of 167ms - 67ms is between my mast and the IBB mast, everything else is really low pings from there...

I'm getting ping spikes from the mast too. It's just overloaded I'm sure.

Sounds just like my problems tonkpils and they are still not fixed after almost 2 months now. I rember being at Bray LAN and being on a good IBB connection at the same time as mine was bad, how long ago is that now?

Jesus where are you??????? Thats a line issue not a router issue man your setup want done right.

Hold on why are you pinging straight to tallaght and not to bray??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,995 ✭✭✭✭Cuddlesworth

Not on bray was just trying to put things in perspective. And if the problem was my mast then why is it that some days I get pings of 3-6 and others it goes into the stratasphere
