Oh, very handy map there. Will come in useful midweek.

That Google Maps thing will be good once they get everything updates, the routefinder especially might be handy. For now, I'll have to stick with AA Routefinder instead.

Are there any good ariel/satellite maps of dublin. Or those ones updated once an hour or so.

Have a look at www.earth.google.com and download the free viewer-a lot of Ireland covered by satellite photos mixed with maps-good for N Dublin at least.

Thanks, I only got google earth a few days back and it got me searching for irish specific sites. I remember seeing them years ago and thought they should have improved, they were better than google earths coverage of ireland.
google earth is still really good though.

http://www.dto-journeyplanner.ie/ has good quality aerial views of Dublin, along with traditional maps when you zoom out a bit - and it does route finding as well. The interface isn't as nice as Google Maps, but it does cover the southside in a lot of detail.

Also (and not so seriously) if you use the Dart, check this out:

(Google Maps + CIE website + college student with too much free time = cool demo app :-)

Couldn't agree more about the google maps.

If your a mac user you can even download a widget so that googlemaps are just a keystroke away.

    here ya go

Google Earth has recently(?) added better coverage for other parts of Dublin (e.g. southside), with satellite photos clearly taken in the depths of winter (snow on the mountains, and very lonnnnnnng north-facing shadows)
