Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Couldn't agree with ya there tbh. Twas his first competitive game in that position and he made a lot of tackles, always looking to give good through balls and was like keane in that he always appeared when a player was in trouble and took a pass and left it off again quickly, doesn't look much but that's what Keane is known for, those things in a game that go unnoticed. Smith is one of them players that even when things ain't going his way still puts in a huge effort, that's a great sign in my opinion(hate the viduka's,henry's and kewell's of the game who laze around)It's a poor situation to have to play him there for only his 2nd competitive game in that position,he could do with a few more games there maybe in the league cup but who else is there to put in? Fletcher? Screw that. Out of players who have played there,Johno's in right back instead of Neville so he's out, Phil Neville's gone to Everton,Kleberson is well out,and there ain't a hope of Liam Miller getting in there so yup Smith's the only option right now. Anyone else have any opinions on who might do a job there or how Fergie can change it round?

The news is even worse, Keane is now out for up to 6 weeks. It's like Deja Vu from this time last season. The season has only just started and Chelsea are laughing all ready, both of their main challengers have lost their most influential players for around 6 weeks.

It could also be bad news for Ireland if he is not fit for the Switzerland game.

Manchester United captain Roy Keane has been ruled out for at least two weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 33-year-old suffered a recurrence of the injury which had originally kept him out of United's pre-season tour to the Far East when he was introduced as a substitute in the latter stages of Saturday's Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

Keane felt the problem again in training on Tuesday and was immediately withdrawn from the squad which flew out to Spain for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Villarreal.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson had hoped his influential captain would be available for Sunday's key Barclays Premiership encounter with Liverpool at Anfield.

However, further tests have confirmed Keane will be sidelined for at least a fortnight after which the player's fitness will be reassessed.

Aside from United's next two fixtures it also means the Irishman will miss the Premiership home game with Blackburn on September 24 and the following week's European encounter with Benfica.

At this stage it is too early to say whether Keane will also sit out his country's make-or-break World Cup qualifier with Switzerland in the middle of next month although if the veteran takes longer to recover than United hope he would be a major doubt.

Ferguson had already revealed Alan Smith will continue to deputise for Keane in Spain, and the former Leeds player looks set for an extended run in the side following his summer conversion from the striking department.

If they beat Cyprus then I cant see him missing out on that game!!! if they lose against Cyprus then no chance!!
