Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Carkit Question

I'm looking to purchase the SE HCB-300 carkit:

    http://www.expansys.ie/product.asp?code=HCB-300

Its mentioned that the "Sony Ericsson HCE-16 Advanced Music Mute" (http://www.expansys.ie/product.asp?code=AMM) should be purchased also in order to "automatically turn off sound coming from the car stereo when a call is received or made and channels sound through your car speakers instead of the seperate speaker supplied with Sony Ericsson car kits".

I'm just wondering if its necessary to purchase the HCE-16 in order to achieve the same results? Has anyone got this carkit and managed to mute radio sound and loop phone sound through speakers?

    Thanks,

    Viking

Sorry , I'm a bit confused by your post .

You need the HCE-16 to channel the sound through the speakers on your stereo . Otherwise you use the single speaker supplied with the car kit .

I think you have answered your own question .

Yeah, I pretty much did but I'm hoping to try and avoid the €48.95 (+ delivery) charge for the HCE-16 and I was wondering if anyone managed to achieve the same results (DIY) without purchasing the cable?

Yeah, I especially like the way you can pair up multiple phones.

Did you purchase the HCE-16? Do you get much echo when the phone sound is channelled through the car speakers?
