the following fantasy fight took place 6 months after ali's defeat by joe frazier and 3 months after tysons demolition of micheal spinks......

Round One: Tyson launches into Ali with a left hand jab. Ali tries to use his punishing jab but Tyson retaliates with a great left hook. Ali lets his guard down briefly and lets Tyson in with another left hook. Tyson seems to have done enough to win the first round.

Round Two: Ali is warned twice by referee Archie Moore for holding. Ali lands three powerful right upper cuts on Tyson. Ali's plans to lure in Tyson close appears to be working in a round that the he almost certainly won.

Round Three: Tyson attempts to come in close to Ali but cannot land a punch as Ali fends him off with a number of jabs. Ali replies to Tyson's attempted hook by catching him on the eye. Ali receives treatment to a bruise above the right eye.

Round Four: Ali takes another blow to the chin from Tyson. Ali jabs his way through Tyson's guard and his face begins to swell. Tyson is wrestled down on to the canvas by Ali and the former champ has a point deducted by the referee.

Round Five: Ali looks for the swelling above Tyson's right eye and tries to reach it with his jab. Ali looks to have won yet another round after landing a number of point-scoring shots.

Round Six: A good right-left combination from Ali lands Tyson in all sorts of trouble. Ali tees up Tyson by pushing his jab through his guard. Tyson looks jaded and it only seems a matter of time before he feels the full brunt of Ali's power.

Round Seven: Tyson charges out in the seventh. Ali teases Tyson into coming in close. Tyson and Ali exchange jabs. A right hook puts Tyson off balance as Ali once again dominates the round.

Round Eight: Tyson charges out once again to try and catch Ali by surprise, but his reach is far smaller than that of Ali's and can only land body shots. Tyson almost collapses to one knee as Ali lands a lethal upper-cut.

Ali reaches for the killer blow only to be stopped by referee Moore. Tyson is almost counted out, rises again but is knocked to the floor by Ali with spectacular right-hook. The fight is stopped and Ali regains his world championship title.
