Anyone know what's going on with Matt? He hasn't done anything in quite some time,to my knowledge. I thought, at least, that he would move into producing. I want to find some recent interviews but have found none.

I thought he had given up on music altogether. Which is a shame because The The were one of the best bands of the last twenty years. Now that you've put The The in my head I'm going to have to go and listen to all of their CDs again.

Whoa! Where did you read that?

I can't remember, it was some article on artists from the 80's weird British scene (The The, Coil, Current 93, Psychic TV, etc) that said something to the extent that Matt Johnson had become fed up with the industry and wanted nothing to do with it anymore.

He lost his contract with Epic some time back, released a couple of CDs on an indy-label, and things fizzled out for him lately.

He used to maintain his own web site up until recently, but I think he's even stopped doing that now.

His last CD was Nakedself, right?

I believe so. Unless there's a hidden new one somewhere.
